Gerald is the founder of Cipolla Law Group. He has been practicing law since 2000. He is admitted to practice law in Illinois and licensed to practice Immigration Law for clients in all 50 States and around the world. Gerald’s area of focus is Immigration law, in particular Investor and Business immigration, as well as Family and Marriage Visas and Permanent Residence (“Green Card”) Applications.
Gerald’s experiences and personal relationships while living overseas in Europe and Asia instilled him a great passion for Immigration Law. Gerald studied and lived in many countries, including France and Sweden for part of his Juris Doctor degree, Finland for his MBA, and China for his Master’s degree in Law. His personal experiences, as well as his years of experience as an Immigration lawyer, enabled him to have a better understanding of what his client is going through and what it’s like to be an Ex Pat in a foreign country. Throughout Gerald’s professional career as a lawyer, he practiced a diverse area of laws which typically involved conflicts between people or families as opposed to bringing people and families together like immigration law. It was always his dream to represent clients in happy legal matters such as uniting families or helping professionals to achieve their career goals in the United States.
Gerald’s diverse academic background as an Immigration Attorney combined with his MBA and Technology background in Computer and Biological Sciences enables him to better understand complex and sophisticated Business and Employment Visa cases such as L1, H1B and EB Green Cards including National Interest Waivers, Extraordinary Ability Green Cards and Investor Visas. Gerald enjoys working with sophisticated scientists, entrepreneurs, investors and other skilled professionals and has successfully represented many clients in obtaining their green cards and visas.
Gerald served as an Adjunct Law Professor in the City Colleges of Chicago, IL where he taught the law of Contract and Business Law. He is also an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Gerald is a strong communicator who loves working with people, listening to people, exploring and striving to deliver the best legal solutions to their problems.

Katherine Sin, Administrator
Katherine is the Administrator in Cipolla Law Group. She oversees the day to day operation of the firm and responsible for planning and implementing business strategies of our law firm. Katherine grew up in Hong Kong and was educated in a boarding school in London, England for most of her secondary school education. She received her LLB(Hons) Law degree from Cardiff University in Wales, United Kingdom and her LLM Master Degree in Law from the City University of Hong Kong. She is also a certified Mediator from DePaul University. Having lived and studied in Asia, England, Wales and the United States, her international experiences gave her the passion to meet people from around the globe and assist them with their legal matters. Katherine speaks, reads and writes fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin. When Katherine is not working, she loves to travel, cook and play with her cats.
