B1 Visa (Business Visa) - An Overview

The Immigration and Nationality Act provides B1 Visas (Business Visa)
to: “an alien (other than one coming for the purpose of study or of
performing skilled or unskilled labor or as a representative of foreign
press, radio, film, or other foreign information media coming to engage in
such vocation) having a residence in a foreign country which he has no
intention of abandoning and who is visiting the United States
temporarily
for business or temporarily for pleasure.”

    the Canadian Border;

    in the United States;

  • Athletes competing in a tournament for money;

  • Individuals to be a guest lecturer at a United States University;

  • Persons visiting the United States to for litigation related activities;

  • Business persons attending meetings as a member of a Boards of
    Directors;

  • Businesses persons or agents of a foreign corporation employer to
    procure goods, services, components, and/or raw materials for use
    outside of the United States;

  • Athletes competing in a tournament for money.
